FAQs

I'm a member - did you extend my membership because of the closure?

All memberships that were active on the date of our closure, March 14, 2020, were put on "pause." All memberships will automatically be extended by one year with a new expiration date of August 2022. We will not be issuing new physical cards. All memberships now receive free digital membership cards. For more information, head on over to our Membership FAQ.

Will you still honor the guest passes I purchased?

Yes. All guest passes have been extended and will be honored. Passes must be turned in at time of arrival.

Are you accepting coupons for admission?

We will not be accepting coupons at this time. We will continue to honor our typical discounts (for example school faculty members and active military family members) and free passes. If you have concerns about a specific coupon, please reach out to info@grcm.org.

I qualify for SNAP / EBT - is Museums for All admission still $1.75?

Yes, admission is still $1.75 per person for up to 12 people for those who receive EBT/WIC assistance.

I bought a GR Culture Pass - how does that work?

The Museum is not currently accepting GR Culture Pass ticket holders. Please visit Gr Culture Pass customer care.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Your GRCM membership is tax deductible. Please contact our Membership Manager, Megan Geiken at mgeiken@grcm.org for a tax receipt.

Can I have food in the museum?

No food will be allowed in the museum. For safety reasons, guests are discouraged from bringing other outside food and beverages to the Museum. We encourage you to eat before or after your visit. GR Food Trail. There are also many local restaurants in the downtown area to try!

Will drinking fountains be open for use?

No, not at this time. We encourage you to bring your own water bottles

Can I leave the museum & reenter?

No re-entry will be allowed at this time.

Who is required to wear a mask at the museum?

All guests, ages 2 and up, are strongly recommended to wear masks while visiting the museum.

Can I reserve a wheelchair? Locker? Stroller?

A limited number of wheelchairs will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis and will be thoroughly sanitized after each use. Reservations for lockers and strollers will not be available at this time. Personal strollers are allowed. For continued safety reasons, our coat rack will not be available at this time. We ask that guests keep their personal belongings with them at all times. 

When will museum special programs and events return?

They are back! Drop into our makerspace to find something new to create and explore. Don't forget, there is a variety of interactive, screen-free activity ideas available online on our Play@Home page. Stay tuned for more special programs and events to come in the near future! 

When will Family Thursday Nights return?

Our Family Thursday night pricing will be on pause during our phased reopening. We look forward to resuming as soon as we are able. Stay tuned for updates on our hours and admission information.

Can I book a private rental of the full Museum for a birthday party or event?

Will the museum Gift Shop be open?

The Gift Shop is open and will welcome one group at a time. We are so excited for you to see what’s new in the Gift Shop. Thanks for supporting the Museum!

Will all of the exhibits be open?

All current exhibits are open, although some may close throughout the day to allow for regular sanitization.

Can I check out a sensory support backpack?

Yes, sensory support backpacks are available for check out during your visit. All items are thoroughly sanitized before and after guest use.
