What is a Rotating Adult?

A rotating adult can be a parent, caretaker, family member or friend over the age of 18. This person does not have to be "named" on your account and can be a different person at each visit.

Can the Rotating Adult come in without the named cardholder?

Yes. The rotating adult can come in without the named adult having to be present.

Can I come in without my card?

Yes. The named adult can check in at the front desk with a photo ID.

Can I upgrade at any time?

Yes. You are able to upgrade your membership at any time throughout the duration of your membership.

Do members get free parking?

No. Unfortunately we do not have our own parking lot. There is metered street parking surrounding the museum and various parking ramps located nearby. Our FRIEND membership includes 12 parking passes.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Your GRCM membership is tax deductible. Please contact our Membership Manager, Megan Geiken at mgeiken@grcm.org for a tax receipt.

Is my membership good at other museums?

With our FAMILY PLUS & FRIEND memberships, you can show your GRCM membership card to receive 50% off admission at nearly 200 museums in the ACM network. In addition, all members can participate in our Cultural Exchange Program, featuring free admission each month to a designated partner organization for two adults and up to four children.

How do gift memberships work?

GRCM memberships make the perfect gift! GRCM memberships are active immediately upon payment and are active for 12 months from the date of purchase, so now is the perfect time to give the gift of play to a playful person! 

All memberships now receive the added benefit of digital membership cards! Gift recipients can attend the museum using an ID until their digital membership card download link arrives directly in the gift recipient's email (1-3 business days from the date of purchase). Renewing an active membership will automatically add 12 months to the current expiration date, so you don't have to worry about losing time.

 

To purchase a gift membership, select the membership level you would like. Then, make sure to check the box 'This is a gift' on the payment page. Download this gift membership handout if you would like something to put inside of a card. Questions? Email mgeiken@grcm.org.

If I renew early, do I lose time?

No. If you renew before your membership expires, your new membership will start a year from your current expiration date. Not from date of purchase. This is also true for gift memberships.

Can the kids on the membership come in without me?

Dual members must be present to bring their one child and one guest. Family, Grandparent, Family Plus, and Friend members all have a rotating adult on their membership who can bring the children to the museum.

If I purchase a membership online how soon will I receive my member card?

NEW!!! Starting mid-May 2021, digital membership cards will be emailed to the address listed for the primary adult. Expect an email with a link to download your digital membership card between 1-3 business days from the date of purchase. Members can attend the museum using an ID until the email with a digital membership card download link arrives.

Can my membership be transferred?

No. GRCM memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Can I bring a friend with my membership?

Yes! All memberships receive one guest with each visit, which can be an adult or child. FAMILY PLUS & FRIEND members receive two guest passes per visit.

How do I hear about member events and member news?

Our member newsletter is sent out monthly, highlighting upcoming events, programs and news. In addition, our website and Facebook page are great resources for the most current information. Our primary form of communication is via email, based on the email that was used to sign-up with your membership. To add or change an email, contact mgeiken@grcm.org.

Did you pick up the Free Museum Pass from your local library?

Bring the pass to the front desk to receive free admission to the GRCM for up to six people. To qualify, you must be a library card holder, and the limit is one pass per year. You have one day from picking up the pass to use it at the museum. Are you a library and want a pass? Download this form, or contact mgeiken@grcm.org for details.

Will my membership be extended since the Museum has been closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Yes! All GRCM memberships that were active on the date of our closure in March 2020 will be automatically extended to cover the duration of the shutdown. Your digital membership card will automatically reflect your new expiration date.

 

How do I add the digital membership card to my iPhone?
Access the email from your smartphone and click the "Download" button, then click "Add to Wallet" and "Add." The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in Wallet at any time.

How do I add the digital membership card to my Android phone?
Android users need to download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.

I’d prefer not to use this digital membership card, what should I do?
Physical cards are available for pickup from the front desk upon request. Please contact our Membership Manager, Megan Geiken at mgeiken@grcm.org.

My family member is on this membership account also, how can she/he receive the card?
Android
Navigate to the back of the card (tap on the small "i" on the front) and use the “Share Pass” button to send the card to your secondary member.

iOS
Navigate to the back of the card (tap on the "..." button on the front), then tap on the share icon at the top right to send the card to your secondary member.

If you are an iOS user, you will find the share icon at the top right on the back of the card.

I downloaded my card but I can’t find it.
If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there--it may be hiding!). If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.
