open for play!

Enjoy big-city fun in a kid-sized way in Little GR! This exhibit is a hands-on, imaginative play space where kids can explore real-world roles in a child-sized cityscape inspired by Grand Rapids. Whether stocking shelves and scanning groceries at the Little Meijer, counting money at the Huntington Wee Bank, or crafting pretend pizzas at Uccello’s Play Pizzeria, children are invited to engage in creative role play that builds social, cognitive, and practical life skills.

This interactive neighborhood is designed to spark curiosity, collaboration, and community pride — making it a favorite spot for playful learning and creating multi- and intergenerational memories. There’s so much to do in this “little” version of our great city!
